application from one of the Clerks attending the Chairman of
the Committee of Members of the Honourable House of Commons
on the aforesaid Business for a Gratuity as he alledged had
been usual and that the Solicitor for the City had given him
five Guineas. It is referred to his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace who were of the aforesaid Committee of Managers or
any three or two of them what the said Mr. White should be
paid for the Service before mentioned and to signify their
opinion at the County Day of the next Session And it is
Ordered that the Persons who made Journies to get the said
Petitions signed be allowed and paid by Mr.Jefferson the County Treasurer one Guinea each and
no more out of the public Stock of this County which Sum this
Court is of opinion is a sufficient satisfaction for that Service
And this Court is of opinion not to allow any Gratuity to the
said Clerk to the Chairman of the Committee in Parliament
and accordingly doth dismiss the application And
whereas there have been several Statute Books annually
provided by Mr. Jefferson the Treasurer of Mr. Worralr
the Bookseller by Order of Court for the use of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace assembling at Hick's Hall on the County
Business and there have been sundry Businesses done and
Money paid by the said Treasurer by Orders of the Sessions
for which he hath applied to be paid It is thereupon
Ordered that it be and is hereby referred to any three or two
of his Majesty's Justices that will please to meet to settle the
said Charges and disbursements and to report what they
shall think ought to be allowed and paid on the County day
of the next Session.
