county to the intent that such direction may be
given for repairing the said prison when necessary as
the Court shall think proper.

This Day being appointed for the Election of a Keeper of New Prison
at Clerkenwell
in the
County in the Place & stead of Mr.
Thomas Cavenagh< no role >
deceased And
Edward Hollybone< no role >
Offering himself and praying that he may be appointed Keeper of the said Prison This
Court is Opinion that the said
Edward Hollybone< no role >
be appointed Keeper Upon Condition
that he do well & truely perform the Office or Employment of Keeper of the Said Prison
and pay the Fines to be received by him to the Sheriff or his Agent and to pay
Such Fees as he shall receive for the Clerk of the Peace
of this County to the Clerk of the
Peace or his Deputy, and also to pay the Yearly Sum of Ten Pounds to the Matron
of the House of Correction at. Clerkenwell
by quarterly payment, and also at his Charge
to do the small Repairs suchas Stowring, emptying, cleansing, & Glazeling to the
said Prison and also to pay the Yearly Sum of Twenty Pounds to the Clerk of the
Peace on Account of doing other Grand Repairs to the said Prison if the Court
shall find such Repairs necessary to be done Or otherwise to be Subject to the Order
of the Court touching the Disposal thereof
And also to give Bond himself in the Sum of two hundred Pounds and two Sureties each
in one hundred Pounds unto Thomas Lane< no role >
