At Westminster on Monday in the Week next after the Close
of Easter (to wit) the 23d. Day of April 1750.

Order for returning thanks
to Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr.
Chairman of this Court.}

It is Ordered that the Thanks of this Court be and they are
hereby given unto Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . Chairman of this Court
for his learned and usefull Charge by him this day given to
the Grand Jury and other Jurys assembled at this present
General Quarter Session of the Peace now holden at
Westminster in and for this County.

At Westminster on Monday in the Week next after the Close
of Easter (to wit) the 23d. Day of April 1750.

Order against the
Masquerade at Ranelagh
House.}

Whereas an Advertisement has been published & dispersed
that there will a Jublee Masquerade Ball at Ranelagh
House in Chelsea on Wednesday next, This Court taking the
Same into into Consideration doth declare that Such Meetings
as it tends to the Encouragement of Gaming Lewdness and all
Manner of Debauchery and the Corruption of the Morals of both
Sexes in unlawfull and a publick Nusance, and therefore this
Court is determined to punish and Suppress the Same to the
utmost of their power, And it is ordered that this Resolution
be published in the News Papers to prevent innocent Persons
going to the Said Meeting and thereby Subjecting themselves
to Prosecutions and other Inconveniences which may arise
therefrom.

By adjournment on Thursday the 26th. day of April 1750 .

Order for returning thanks
to the Lord Bishop of
London for his Letter to
the Clergy & People of
London & Westmr. on
occasion of the late
Earthquakes.}

It is Ordered that the Thanks of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
of this County assembled at this present General Quarter Sessions
of the Peace be given to the Lord Bishop of London for his
Excellent Letter to the Clergy and People of London and
Westminster on occasion of the late Earthquakes, the Said Letter
tending very much to the discountenancing of Vice & Immorality
and to the propagation of Religion and virtue, And It is desired
that Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . Chairman of this Court, the Right
Honoble the Earl of Kinnoul and one or two other Justices of the
Peace do for and on behalf of the Said Justices of the Peace
assembled in Sessions attend and return their thanks to the Said
Lord Bishop of London for his Excellent Letter above mentioned
