the Sum of five hundred and twenty pounds And the Said
Robert Kidwell< no role > doth ask for his Said ground & premisses
Seven hundred and thirty five pounds, And this Court being
also further informed that Articles of agreement have been
entred into for the rebuilding the Said Bridge, which Articles
being now produced & read It appeareth to this Court that
the Same bear date the twenty eighth day of April in the
year of our Lord 1741 and are made or mentioned to be
made between Thomas Dunn< no role > Mason & Charles Marquand< no role >
Carpenter of the one part and Sr. Joseph Ayloffe< no role > Houlding
Bart . Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > Richard Farwell< no role > George Howard< no role >
Nathaniel Balckerby< no role > William Morrice< no role > James Clitherow< no role >
John Milner< no role > John Elliott< no role > This name instance is in set 3963. Joseph Goodard< no role > & John Stevens< no role >
Esquires Justices of the peace for the County of Middlesex for
and on the behalf of the Inhabitants of the Same County of
the other part, By which Articles the Said Thomas Dunn< no role >
& Charles Marquand do covenant & agree with the Said
Justices well & Sufficiently to rebuild the Said Bridge under
the direction of Mr. Charles Labelye the Engineer or
Surveyor on behalf of the Inhabitants of the Said County
and finish the Same on or before the twenty fifth day of
March 1742 and to find and provide good Sound portland
Stone, bricks, timber and other materials for that purpose
(except as is therein excepted) for the Sums of three hundred
pounds.andfour hundred pounds,and other
considerations particularly mentioned in the Said Articles,
to be paid to them at or within Such time or times and in
Such manner as is therein Specifyed This Court upon
consideration of the premisses is of opinion that the Sums
of money insisted upon by the Said William Butler< no role > and
Robert Kidwell< no role > for the purchase of their Said Estates are too
great & more than the Court of sessions doth at present
think fit or adviseable to raise upon this County And doth therefore direct that the
Said Bridge be rebuilt over the Said River Brent and upon
the ground belonging to this County, on which the old
Bridge or part thereof Stood, in the most comodious
manner the Same can be done, And doth order that it
be And It is hereby recomended & referred unto the Said
Committee or any three or more of them to give
