whole the Committee are of opinion that it will be
better & theaper for the County to rebuild the Bridge
than to repair it And are further of opinion that
whether the Bridge is rebuilt or repaired it is highly
proper to turn a Brick Arch over the Abuttment at
the end next Brentford As by the Said Report relation
being thereunto had may at large appear, This Court
upon reading the Said Report Doth Order that the
further consideration as to Brentford Bridge be
again referred to the Said Committee, who are hereby
desired to take the Said Mr. King as their Surveyor
who is to prepare a particular of the Several timbers
& their Scantlings, and of all other materials, and
of his method of performing it, in Order for workmen
to deliver in their proposalls to the Said Committee,
which Committee after considering of the Said
proposalls are desired to make their Report to his
Maties Justices of the peace at the next General Sessions
of the peace for this County for their opinion &
determination, And It being alledged that James
Clitherow Esquire one of his Maties Justices of the
peace for this County is willing to part with an
advantageous peice of ground belonging to his
Estate, unto this County for the benefit of Brentford
Bridge aforesaid, the Same being contiguous to the
Said Bridge, And the Said Mr. Clitherow now assenting
thereto It is Ordered by this Court that the thanks of
this Court be and they are hereby given to the Said
Mr. Clitherow for the Same, And It being further
alledged that it being necessary for the workmen who
are to be employed in & about the repairing of
Brentford Bridge to come on Some ground belonging
to his Grace the Duke of Sommerset or lying within
his Mannor for the doing of Such repairs It is
Ordered by this Court that the Committe be and
they are hereby desired to wait on his grace the
