order for causeing Some
necessary repaires to be
done to Hicks Hall }

Whereas by an Order made by the Court of General Quarter
Sessions of the peace holden for this County by adjornment on
Thursday the twenty eighth day of June in the year of our
Lord 1733 upon the petition of Thomas Bromley< no role > then
House keeper of Hicks hall and Cryer of the General Quarter and
General Sessions of the peace for the Said County It was (amongst
other things) recomended & referred unto Nathaniel

Simon Michell< no role > Jacob Harvey< no role > Robert Tothill< no role > Anthony
Chamberlain
< no role > Richard Farwell< no role > William Hayton< no role > & Richard
Farmer
< no role > Esquires Justices of the peace for this County or any three
or more of them as a Committee to assemble & meet together
And to take a view of Hicks Hall aforesaid, and to take to their
assistance Such able workman or workmen as they Should
think fit, And to See if Hicks Hall aforesaid was out of repaire
And if any and what repaires were wanting & necessary
to be done thereto, And if it Should appear that the Same
was out of repaire Then to make an estimate of what it
would cost well & Sufficiently to repaire the Same And to
make their Report in writing touching the premisses with
their opinion what was fit to be done therein unto the
Court of General or General Quarter Sessions of the peace for
this County, Now upon information given unto this Court
that the Said Committee (the Several times Sumoned) have
not yet met together to take the Said view, And Mr. Osborne
the present Housekeeper of Hicks hall aforesaid and Cryer of the
Sessions acquainting this Court that it is was requisite that some
repaires Should be forthwith done to the Said Hall to Secure
the Same from the weather, It is thereupon Ordered by this
Court that the Said Committee be and they are hereby
desired (taking to their assistance Such able workman or
workmen as they Shall think proper) to meet at Hicks Hall aforesaid
And to direct and cause Such repaires to be forthwith done to Hicks
hall aforesaid as they Shall at their Said Meeting find necessary to
be done thereto to Secure the Same against the weather, And to
report an account of their proceedings herein and of the charge
of doing the Said repaires to the Court of the next General
Sessions of the peace to be holden for this County, And as to any
further repaires to be done to the Said Hall this Court doth
adjourn the consideration thereof to the County day of the
Same Sessions.
