We whose Names are Subscribed being a Quorum of
the Comittee Appointed by an Order made at the General
Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden by Adjornment in
and for the said County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in St
John Street on Thursday the 22d. day of July last past
To Treat and Contract with some Able & Experienced
Workman or Workmen for the effectual repairing of a
Publick Bridge called Brentford bridge lying within the
parish of Hanwell in the said County Do hereby
Certify that in pursuance of the said Order We Did by
Writing Indented bearing date the tenth day of August
last past made Between us the said Comittee and
William Butler< no role > of New Brentford in the said County
Carpenter Contract with the said William Butler< no role > for his
the said William Butlers well and Sufficiently and or
a Substantial and Workman like manner repairing and
Amending the said Publick bridge and for his finding
and providing Timber Nails, Spikes, Bricks, lime, hair
Mortar Paint, Gravel, and all and all manner of
Materials whatsoever and Workmanship necessary
to be Used and Employed in and about repairing and
Amending the said Publick Bridge And did also
Agree with the said William Butler< no role > that the Piles
and other Timber Used in repairing and Amending
the said Publick bridge should be of particular Scantlings
and Goodness as are particularly Set down mentioned &
Expressed in the said Indented Writing In Consideracon
of which repairs Etc so to be done and performed by the
said William Butler< no role > (and likewise in pursuance of
the said Order) We the said Comittee Did by the said
Indented Writing Covenant and Agree to pay to the
said William Butler< no role > the sum of £177:3s:0d £60. part
thereof at the Ensealing and Delivery of the said Indented
Writing (which said Sum of £60 the said William Butler< no role >
hath reced of Mr. John Higgs< no role > the Treasurer of the
Moneys raised or to be raised by the rate made for
