July 1734

Present

The Kings most Excellent Majesty in Council

Order of the King in
Council for Justices of the
peace to for beare the
taking up of Seamen}

Whereas by His Majestys Command, Several Letters were
Sent from the Lords of His Majestys most Honourable Privy
Council, dated the 3d. day of April last, to the Custodes
Retulorum of all the Countys of this Kingdom, requiring
them to call upon the Justices of the peace within their
respective Countys, and Strictly to Enjoyn them to cause all
Straggling Seamen that Should be found fit to Serve on
Board His Majestys Ships to be taken up and Sent to the
Several Ports, as was therein directed, for the Speedy Manning
His Majestys Fleet. And whereas the Lords Commissioners
of the Admiralty have this day represented to His Majesty< no role >
at this Board, that there is no further Occasion of any more
Seamen at present. His Majesty< no role > is thereupon pleased,
with the Advice of His Privy Council, to Order as it is
hereby Ordered, that the Said Custodes Rotulorum do
for bear the further putting in Execution the aforesaid
Letters, and that they do give the necessary Directions to
the Justices of the peace within their respective Countys not
to take up any more Seamen untill His Majestys pleasure Shall
be further Signified.

Order for continueing Mr.
Alex Clarke< no role > high Constable
of Holborne Division untill
after his accounts relating
to the publick money Shall
be passed}

Forasmuch as it appeareth to this Court that Mr. Alexander
Clarke high Constable of Holborne Division within the
Hundred of Ossulston in this County (who hath Served the
Said Office for the Space of three years & upwards) hath not
yet delivered up all his accounts of the publick money by
him reced belonging to this County, to the Committee
of his Maties Justices of the peace of the Said County
appointed to take the accounts of the publick money belonging
to the Same County, It is Ordered by this Court that the Said
Alexander Clarke< no role > be continued high Constable of Holborne
