Order to present
the Fireing and
Throwing of Squibbs
Etc.

This Court being Informed that severall Persons have
of late presumed and taken upon them to Fire, throw
or cast Squibbs, Rockets, Serpents, Crackers and other
Fireworks in and into the Publique Streets Houses
Coaches Shops Highways and Passages in this County
and more particularly in such part thereof as lyes
within the Weekly Bills of Mortality To the great
Danger and Damage of his Majestyes Liege Subjects
and against the form and effect of one Art of Parliament
made in the Ninth and Tenth Yeares of the Reign of
his late Majesty King William the third Intituled an Art
to prevent the throwing or fireing of Squibbs Serpents
and other fireworks, For Remedy whereof for the
future and for the better preservation of his Majesties
Peace, It is thought fit and Ordered by this Court
that the respective High Constables of Holbourne
Division Finsbury Division and the Tower Division
within the Hundred of Ossulston in this County Doe
forthwith Issue out their Precepts to all the Petty
Constables and headboroughs of the severall
Parishes Hamblets and Places within their
respective Divisions thereby requiring them
immediately to goe to every House within their
respective Districts, and give Notice to the Inhabitants
and Lodgers there that they doe not at any time and
particularly on the Day commonly called The Lord
Mayors Day or on any Publick Dayes of Rejoyeing
permitt any Squibbs Rocketts Serpents Crackers or
other Fireworks to be fired thrown or cast out of or
in their Houses or Lodgeings or any part or place
thereto adjoyning into any Publique Street House Coach
Shop Highway Road or passage under the Penaltie of
Twenty Shillings for every such Offence inflicted by the
said Act And that neither they nor their Children
