Order for giveing
notice to Justices
to be present on
the County day in
next sessions to
consider of the
Patent granted
to the Clerke of
the Markett

Upon informacon given unto this Court that
the Deputies & Agents of Thomas Robe< no role > &
John Matthews< no role > Esqrs . Clerke of the Market
of his Maties. household have & doe exact &
receive great Sumes of money of Tradesmen
and Alehousekeepers in this County under
pretence of weighing of their weights and
measureing of their quarts, pints & other
measures, and that such proceeding is
illegall & oppressive and cannot be Justifyed
And the said Mr. Robe being now present &
insisting on the legality of their proceedings
by vertue of the patent granted of the Office
of Clerke of the said Markett to him & the sd.
Mr. Matthews, This Court upon reading
the aforesaid Patent Doth Order that the
consideracon of the said Patent and of the
extent thereof and of the power & authority
thereby granted be adjourned untill the
County day in the next generall Sessions
of the peace to be holden for this County
(to witt) Thursday the twenty third day of
February next at two of the clock in the after
-noon, And that notice be given by the Cryer
of this Court on his Agent to all the Justices of
the peace of the said County to acquaint them
that this Court desires that they will be present
at Hicks hall at the time aforesaid to consider
of the said Patent,
