paper specially to the Court of Generall or Quarter Sessions of
the peace for this County.

Order for appointing
Wm. Mallard High
Constable within the
Hundred of Edmonton
in the room of Richard
Prentice }

Application haveing been made into the Court by Richard
Prentice Gentl one of the high Constables within the Hundered
of Edmonton in this County praying to be discharged from his
said Office of High Constable , And eight of his Maties Justices
of the peace of this County residing within the said Hundred
haveing recomended unto this Court one William Mallard< no role >
of Southmims within the said Hundred in this County as a
proper person to be High Constable within the same Hundred
in his stead This Court Doth appoint the said William
Mallard to be High Constable within the the Hundred of
Edmonton in the room and place of the said Richard Prentice,
And Doth order that the said William Mallard< no role > doe imediately
after notice hereof attend one of his Maties Justices of the
peace of this County residing within the said Hundred and
take his Oath for his due execution of the Office of High
Constable within the same Hundred, And from and after
the time of the said William Mallard< no role > 's haveing taken such
Oath the said Richard Prentice is to be discharged from his
said Office of high Constable.

Whereas the Recognizances which have been usually
taken before the Justices of the peace of this County of
Middlesex to prosecute Offenders in case of Felony, Burglary
and other Capitall Offences have been frequently defective
Inasmuch as such Recognizances have been menconed to
be upon Condition that the persons therein bound should
appear at the next Sessions of the peace to be holden for the
County of Middlesex and then and there prosecute the Law
with effect and give Evidence upon a Bill of Indictment
to be exhibited by them to the Grand Jury against such
Offender or Offenders for such Offence or Offences, But noe
