was yesterday the 11th. Instant detained in Custody by
Warrant of William Addington< no role >
Esquire
one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
for feloniously
secreting in the City of London
a Letter containing a
Promissory Note for payment of Money which Letter came
into his Hands or Possession by Virtue of his Employment
in the Post Office
as a Letter Carrier And this Deponent
further Saith that several witnesses necessary to the carrying
on the Prosecution with Effect against the said Thomas
Girling for the said offence reside in Wales
and in the City
of Bath
and therefore the Prosecutor cannot be prepared
to try the Prisoner
at the present Sessions for the City of
London
And this Deponent
further Saith that he
apprehends and believes the Prosecutor
will be prepared
to try the Prisoner
at the next Sessions to be holden at
the Old Bailey
in October next.
