John Campbell< no role > of Cross Lane in the Parish of
Saint Dunstan in the East Broker maketh oath
that he was in Last April Sessions held at the
Justice Hall in the Old Bailey , served with a
Summans to attend as a Juror at such Sessions
And this Deponent saith that at that time he was
Particularly engaged in fitting out a Vessell for
Government to cary and convey Recrints to the Cost
of Gibralter , and that on such account it was
necessary for him this Deponent to attend
constantly on General Townsend Inspector General
of Recrints, and that such Attendance to get her with
his Attendance on the Business of fitting and such
Vessell took up his This Deponent s whole time, and
this Deponent further saith that he this Deponent
did not then knows that it was necessary for him to
acquaint the Court with the above Circumstances
which presented this Deponent from attending such
Sessions as aforesaid
