To all and every the Constables and other
Officers of the Peace for the City of London and the
Liberties thereof, whom these may concern, and to the
Porter of Bridewell Hospital London.

No 95
These are in His Majesty's Name strictly to charge and
command you and every of you the said Constables forthwith safely
to convey and deliver into the Custody of the said Porter, the Body of
Evan Edwards< no role > , being charged before us two of His Majesty's Justices
of the Peace in and for the said City and Liberties, by the Oath of George
Lawton
< no role > , with being a Rogue and Vagabond, for having, after the Passing
of a certain Act of Parliament, intitled "An Act to render more effectual
"the Laws now in being for suppressing unlawful Lotteries, "to wit, on
the twenty first day of February in the Year of our Lord one Thousand
seven Hundred and eighty eight at No 60 in Woodstreet in the said City
taken and received of and from the said George Lawton< no role > the Sum of
eleven Peace of lawful Money of Great Britain and in Consideration
thereof then and there promising and agreeing to repay the said George
Lawton the Sum of one Guinea of like lawful Money if a certain Ticket
Number ninety two, should be drawn fortunate or unfortunate on the
eleventh day of drawing of the present English State Lottery, contrary to
the Form of the Act of Parliament in such Case made and provided; and
We do therefore adjudge the said Evan Edwards< no role > to be a Rogue and Vagabond:
Which said Evan Edwards< no role > , you the said Porter are hereby required to receive
and him in your Custody safely to keep until the next General Session
of the Peace to be holden at the Guildhall , in and for the said City, to be
further dealt with according to Law, And for your so doing this shall
be to you and each of you a sufficient Warrant: Given under our
Hands and Seals this twenty second Day of February, one Thousand
seven Hundred and eighty eight .
