made such Inquiries that the said Charles Jorden< no role > was gone into Lancasshire . And this
Deponent saith that on Monday last he obtained a direction to William Jorden< no role > who this
Deponent is informed and believes is Brother to the said Charles Jorden< no role > and who this
Deponent on that day endeavoured to see for the purpose of obtaining information of the said
Charles Jorden< no role > but this Deponent could not meet with him the said William Jorden< no role > till
Yesterday the 11th. day of December instant and the said William Jorden< no role > then informed this
Deponent and which he verily believes to be true that the said Charles Jorden< no role > was gone
either to Manchester or Liverpool but which of the said Places he the said William Jorden< no role >
could not inform this Deponent but that he the said William Jorden< no role > was in Daily
expectation of hearing from his Brother the said Charles Jorden< no role > or used words to that
effect And this Deponent Edward Bevan< no role > for himself further saith that he expects and
believes he and the said other Defendants above named will be able to procure the presence
of the said Charles Jorden< no role > by the Commencement of next January Sessions and that he
this Deponent will use his utmost Diligence for that purpose And this Deponent John
Hunter Waddell< no role > for himself saith that on Saturday the eighth day of December instant
he this Deponent did serve Mr. Steventon of Ely Place Holborn London Gentleman
who acts as Sollicitor for the prosecutor or Prosecutors of this Indictment as he this
Deponent is informed and verily believes with a Notice in Writing in this Cause
purporting that at the next General Session of Oyer and Terminer to be held in and for
the City of London at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey London on Wednesday the twelfth
day of December instant or so soon after as Counsel could be heard the Court would be
moved that the Tryal of the above named Defendants might be put off until next
January Sessions on Account of the absence of a Material Witness by delivering such Notice
to a Clerk of the said Mr Steventon at his House in Ely Place aforesaid.
