in and for the City of
London Who being upon Oath saith that he has lived in the Service of
Mr Collinson an Oilman and Lamp Contractor in Lombard street
about fourteen

also a Servant
to the said Mr CollinsonSaith that on Sunday Evening
last about ½ past five o'Clock when he returned from lighting his Lamps to
his Dwelling which is in Grub Street
in the City aforesaid, the Prisoner was
there and said he had been waiting for him three Quarters of an Hourthat
the Prisoner also told him he had got the Keys of his Master's Cellar near Battle
Bridge
and asked this Examinant to accompany himthat he conceived the
Intent was to steal and carry away his Master's OilSaith that they went
together and this Examinant took with him his Master's Tin Kettlethat
when they came to his said Master's Cellar it was dark and the Prisoner went
and obtained a Lightthat
[..] the Prisoners then desired him to wait at the Door
and he would being him out a Pot of Oilthat he gave the Prisoners his Pot and
he unlocked the Door and went inthat in about four or five Minutes
the Prisoner brought his Pot out of the Cellar, full of Oilthat the Prisoner then went
into the Cellar again and looking thro'

go up Stairs and come down again with a Kettlewhich
the Prisonersin
about ten Minutes he also brought out filledSaith that the Prisoner then
looked the Door and they went togetherthat he understood from the Prisoner
he was to sell the Oil in Golden Lane
but does not know to whomthat
on their Way there they met Mr Collison their Master on Fish Street Hill
in the said City and finding they
should be discovered, each sat down his Pot and ran different Ways
Saith that finding he was under Suspicion of being one of the Men so
met by his Master upon Fish Street Hill he came on the Wednesday
following and confessed the Fact.
