The Information of John Webb< no role > taken before me
James Townsend< no role > Esquire one of the Aldermen of the
said City this 30thday of April1787

Who being upon his Oath saith that he hath been employed as a Porter by
Joseph Lomas< no role > for some time before Christmas last until the time of the
said Lomas's being apprehendedThat about three Weeks before Christmas
he went with sd Joseph Lomas< no role > to Carter Lane near Saint Pauls Church Yard That sd Lomas
went into the Warehouse of Messrs. Samuel Hollings< no role > and William Sutton< no role >
at the Back Poor in Carter Lane nearin Saint Pauls Church Yard aforesaid having first told this Informant
to wait in the Street until he sd. Lomas gave this Informant a Sign to
come to the back Door of sd. WarehouseThat sd Lomas having been
sometime in the said Warehouse came to the Door and beckoned to this
Informant who thereupon went to sd. Warehouse when sd Lomas and
Thomas Beazar< no role > porter to said Messrs. Hollings & Sutton put a Basket
containing Earthen Ware on Informants Head and sd Lomas ordered
Informant to Carry same to his sd Lomas's House.That this Informant
hath been several times to a public house Carter Lane near the Warehouse of sd. Messrs
Hollings and Sutton early in the morning together with said Joseph Lomas< no role >
where they waited until said Thomas Beazar< no role > came to themThat sd
Beazar and Lomas usually drank together and said Beazar told said
Lomas to wait until the warehouse was openThat sd. Beazar came
to inform sd Lomas when the warehouse was open and then sd Lomas
and Beazar went away together from sd public houseThat in a short
time sd Lomas returned to sd public house with a Basket of Earthen
Ware and ordered Informant to Carry same homeThat this Informant
hath also by the direction of sd Lomas waited at the Cock Alehouse in Bow
Lane until the sd Lomas brought a Basket of Earthen Ware and
directed Informant to carry same homeThat the said Lomas
generally unpacked said Baskets himselfThat this Informant brought
a Basket containing Plates from sd. Warehouse to Lomas's have and
this Informant counted the number of such Plates and found there was
Eleven Dozen.
