Hines desired Witness to say at Mr. Ommaney's
that he believed he had signed a Power in Dublin
in One of his Drunken Frolicks to a Person whose
Name he did not recollect, which he agreed to do,
When he went with the Prisoner to Mr. Ommaney's
he was examined alone and Hines the prisoner was
desired to withdraw, That he then told the same Story
that he has now related-That Hires went away
before Witness was released out of the Office, which
was about an Hour after he went in, That on the
next Day he called again upon Hines, who asked him
what passed at Mr. Ommaney's and was told every
Particular, upon which the Prisoner observed it was not
much in his Favor, but did not appear very angry,
Prisoner desired him to get the Power signed and would
settle with him, and advanced him some of the Money,
and the Prisoner was to write to Mr. Hodge for the Money
that was coming to the Prisoner from him, Witness
then received a Power from the Prisoner which was
filled up in the Public House by the Waiter, and that
Witness went in Company with Bob Join to the
Navy Pay Office to get it executed, Prisoner told
him he might leave it in the Office, That when
Witness went into the Office he was examined by
Mr. Slade to know what Division of Marines he
belonged to, and told him the Plymouth, and that
the Number of his Company was 116, upon which
he signed the Power and was brought form thence
before a Magistrate at Guildhall where a Warrant
was obtained against the Prisoner, That he provided
Mr. Cullen
