The King agst. James Maguire< no role >
For Forgery.

William Young< no role > Knight of Great Marlborough Street in
The County of Middlesex Agent to the Solicitor of the admirably
maketh oath and saith That on the third day of March last
this Deponent wrote a Letter to Mr. Johnson Attorney at Law
at Chichester [..] desiring him to inform this Deponent
what Progress he had made (in pursuance of Former Letters
wrote by this Deponent to him the said Mr. Johnson) towards
discovering the next of Kin or relations of James White< no role > deceased
for the Forgery of whose will it is intended to indict and try
the Prisoner James Maguire And this Deponent saith that on
or about the ninth day of the said Month of March this
Deponent received a Letter from the said Mr. Johnson in the
Words and Figures or to the purport and effect Following that
is to say "Sir, Altho' I have sent for and conversed with
"all the Persons of the Name of White living within this City
" and its Suburbs and Neighbourhood and altho too I have
" made all other possible Inquiry (except by hand Bills
" from which here I had no hope of success if the other Modes
" should fail) yet I have not been able to discover either
" any Relations of the James white< no role > mentioned and described
" in Your Letters or any Person who Knew him I am sorry
" my Endeavours have not succeeded and am in haste lest
" I lose the post Sir Your very obedt. servet. Ed. Johnson< no role >
" Chichester Sunday 4 o'Clock And this Deponent Further
saith That having [..] caused advertisements to be
inserted in the public News papers for discovery of the
next of Kin of the said James White< no role > deceased as mentioned
in a Former Affidavit of this Deponent sworn the last
February Session without Effect and finding that the said
Mr. Johnson's Inquiries for the like purpose had also proved
ineffectual
