Westminster to wit


The Information of Hector Essex of
No. 224 Stand Salesman and John
Buckley of No. 266 Bermondsey
Street Southwark taken before
me this 1st. day of March 1787 .

Who being upon Oath severally say and First
the said Hector Essex for himself Says That on
Saturday the 17th. day of February last a person
now present who calls himself Benjamin
Gregson came to this Informant Shop and
bought a Watch and in Payment for the
Same gave this Informant the order for
Payment of Money now produced purporting
to be the order of John Robinson< no role > on Messrs.
Newnham, Everett, Dummond, Tibbitts and
Tornner No. 65 Lanbard Street for the
Payment of Thirteen Pounds Thirteen
Shillings to Messrs. Tomlinson & Company
a Bearer and dated London February 17th.
1787. That at the time said Gregson gave
this Informant the said order for payment
of Money this Informant ask'd said Gregson to
write his Name on said Order when he wrote
the Name and address which now appears
Mereon Vizt. John Williams< no role > No.16
Red Lyon Square Holborn from wet
Name and address and from no such Person
as John Robinson< no role > Keeping back at the
aforesaid Bankers he doth suspect and believe
