That he did not know any Person in the House at the Time
he met the said Gentleman . Examinant and the said Gentleman
talked of the West Indies , having been there and knowing
Sir Edmund Affleck. That the only Reason he this Examinant
had for assuming the Name of Sir Edmund Affleck< no role > was owing
to his (Examinant's) having been so called at a Club held at
Mr. Butcher's, the Three Crowns in White Chapel , and has
been called Sir Edmund about four or five Months, That he
this Examinant knows several of the Members of the said Club,
but doth not remember any of their Names. Examinant doth
not belong to any other Club. The Publick Houses he this
Examinant frequents The Space House, The Ship Lime Street
Green's in Duke Street opposite the Roman Catholic Chapel
Lincoln's Inn Fields , and the Three Crowns Leadenhall Market
That he this Examinant has been at the Horse Shoe and Magfue
he Company withMr. Jonesof Saffron. Walders in the County
of Essex , That the said Mr. Jones resides in Town but Exami-
-nant doth not know where, and that the said Mr. Jones
is a Man of Fortune. That he first became acquainted with
Howlett at Windham in the said County of Norfolk about
Twelve Months ago, by being in the Carpenter and Joiner 's Way
That he this Examinant did not become acquainted with the
said Howlett for any bad Purpose nor hath this Examinant
ever received any Friendship from him the said Howlett
That he this Examinant met the said Howlett at Mr. Price's
at the Ship about Twelve O'Clock by Appointment having
seen the said Howlett the last Night before in Aldersgate Street
and told Examinant that he the said Howlett had Business
the next Morning in Fenchurch Street , and would meet him
this Examinant at Price's aforesaid, That Examinant saw
Howlett there and the said Oliver came into the House but
not by Examinant's Appointment. That they called for
three Gills of Wine, That during the Time they were there
nothing was sayd but about withdrawing a Recognizance
That they did not form any plan before leaving the House, or
what to do. Examinant and Howlett went into the Market
together
