there only Six Months, That he took the House of one Williams at so much
per Month furnished, and gave no good Will, it was a Coffeehouse and
a Lodging House-Himself and a Housekeeper was all the Family, her
name was Rose Solomons whom he took without a Recommendation,
Met her first at some Public House, he does not recollect what Wages
he gave her; finding the House did not answer he left it, and took
a House No. 1 Fletcher Row< no role > Clerkenwell to follow his business of a
Cabinet Mr. as Master-That he bought materials of one Mr. Mangleman
in Old Street Road for his Trade; cant tell what he paid for Timber, that
he always paid in ready Money. That he sold Goods of his own
Manufacture to Mr. Smith of Shadwell and at No. 115 in Old Gravel
Lane to a Carpenter and Undertaker , had not dealt with him three
or four Months - That the last money he received was five or six Guineas
about a Fortnight ago. That he sometimes employed one Weston as
Journeyman who lives at No. 2 Fletcher Row, That Examinant resided
in Fletcher Row about a Year then took a House N: 7 James Street Burnhill
Row and has lived there between five and six Months. That he was
32 Years of Age last October, and that he came to London and went
down to Norwich two or three times in four or five Years after he
served his Apprenticeship , That he did not stay at Yarmouth the
whole time but went backward and forward - That he was Six
Months confirmed in Norwich Castle, but cant tell how long tis since
he went there, That he was indicted at the Quarter Session, and
was fined because a Man sayd he had lost Money at Cards. That
he was six Months in prison and paid a Fine of Twenty Pounds
and it may be nine or ten Years ago - Stay'd there three or four
years after his discharge, Worked with Mr. Sharp that time at the back
of the Inns four or five Days in a Week and get upon an Overaged
15 or 56 Shillings, afterwards with one Sutcliffe in Dove Lane and
stay'd with him about Six Months.
