Oath the 13th. Day of March 1786
Saith that he hath often seen the Prisoners Howlett
[..] and Green picking up of Men in the Streets, That
they addressed a Person opposite the Mansion House
in the
said City and the said Green sayd that he had a Letter
which he wished the said Person to convey for time, and
the said Howlett was near. That he this Examinant on
Tuesday last was going up Lime Street
in the said City
and passed the said Oliver, and immediately after the met
the said Howlett. That he this Examinant knowing the
said Howlett's Character turned his Head to see if he noticed
this Examinant. Then saw the said Howlett Jogg the said
Oliver and both went up the private Trade Gate of the
India Company, which induced this Examinant to suspect
something wrong on the part of the said Howlett and Oliver
That he this Examinant saw the said Green taking hold
of a Gentleman
in the Street with a paper in one Hand
and pointing forwards as if he wished to go into an
House. That Examinant then went up Leaden Hall
Market in order to avoid the said Howlett, Oliver and
Green suspecting that Examinant watched them. That

and Green going into a publick House called
the Ship in Lime Street
aforesaid and that he this
Examinant Stood in a Passage opposite the said Publick
House
