and requested Drewett to assist him this Examinant in
detecting some Sharpers who had got a Gentleman into
the saw Publick House, on which the said Drewett went into the Tap
Room, but the said Prisoners and the said Gentleman
were then up Stairs. That Mr. Stirs from the Corner of
Lime Street aforesaid came with the said Drewett to this
Examinant. That the said Oliver came first down, and
that the said Green and Howlett came up the passage where
he this Examinant, Drewett and the said Mr. Stirs were
then standing. That after the said Prisoners had passed
he this Examinant went up Stairs and asked the old
Man Mr. Delarieve if he had lost any Moneys, who replied
he had. That the said Howlett and Green sayd they had
borrowed the Money of the said Gentleman , and the said
Green sayd that Price of the Ship aforesaid knew him
the said Green very well. That the said Green went to
the said Delarieve in Order to force some Money out of
the Hands of the said Delarieve, but that he this Ex-
-aminant prevented the said Green from so doing. That
he this Examinant then asked the said Delarieve
what Money he had lost. and in what Manner. who
answeredthatby those Letters on the Table allieding
to A, B, C, and G markt with Chaulk on the said Table
Mr. Delarieve that if the said Prisoners would give him
back the Money He the said Delarieve would not have
any Thing further to do, with them [..] meaning Exa-
-minant believes the said Prisoners. That he this
Examinant replied that it was an Justice to the Publick
to let them the said Prisoners to go unpurnished Mr.
Delarieve then answered that it would cause a Disturbance to
