Saith that he was born in the parish of Saint Anne
in Black
Friars in the City of London
and that his Father
was a Waterman
. That about Eleven years ago he was bound
in Apprentice
Mr. Rumley a Salesman
in Nonmouth
Street the County of Middlesex
and that he this Examinant
served the greatest part of his said Apprenticeship
at Ports-
-mouth in the County of Hants at which Place his said
Master had a Ship. After he served his Apprenticeship
he went to live with Mr. Hawkins at Portsmouth aforesaid
and continued with him full Two Years, and left the said
Mr. Hawkins to get more Wages. Examinant then went to
Mr. Hornewood at the Corner of Little Turnstile
in Holborn
in the said County of Middlesex
and lived with him upwords
of Two years, That he left the said Mr. Hornwood, because
the said Mr. Hornwood desired to lower the Wages of him
this Examinant, and that he this Examinant did not quit
the Service of the said Mr. Hornewood on any other Account
whatsoever. That he this Examinant then went to the
City of Pristol and lived with Mr. Wilson or Salesman
in
Bridge Street near three Weeks but left the said Mr. Wilson
on Account of a Disagreement about Wages between the
said Mr. Wilson and him this Examinant. That Examinant
had no other Acquaintance than the said Mr. Wilson at Bristol
That Examinant then lodged at a Public Housenear the Old
Market in the said City of Bristol
, and went often for Exercise over
