Micah Warren< no role > of Mark Lane in the City of London Cordwainer
maketh Oath and saith that he this Deponent did on Thursday the
[..] day of April Instant personally serve Vernon Ley< no role > with a true
Copy of a Subpena issuing out of this Honourable Court in order to Compel
the said Vernon Ley to attend at the present Session to give Evidence on
the BIll of Indictment against the said John Hale< no role > before the Grand
Jury on Friday the eighth day of the said Month of April And this
Deponent saith that the said Vernon Ley did attend in pursuance of
the said Subpena and was examined as a Witness upon the said
Indictment before the Grand Jury. And this Deponent further saith
that he on Monday the eleventh day of April instant saw the said
Vernon Ley at a public house known by the sign of the Globe situate in
Crutched Fryars in the said City of London When and where this
Deponent desired the said Vernon Ley to attend at the said Session on
the same day to give Evidence on the Trial of the said John Hale< no role >
and the said Vernon Ley promised this Deponent to attend at the
said Session accordingly but the said Vernon Ley did not attend
in pursuance of his said promise to give Evidence on the Trial of the
said John Hale< no role > at any time on the said Monday the eleventh
day of April instant And this Deponent further saith that he this
Day hath made diligent Enquiry to find out the said Vernon
Ley in order to serve him with a Subpena to Attend the Trial
of the said John Hale< no role > but his Deponent hath not been able to
meet with the said Vernon Ley or to serve him with the said
Subpena And this Deponent further saith that he hath been informed
and verily beleives that the said Vernon Ley is a material Witness
on behalf of the Prosecution against the said John Hale< no role > on the Trial
of the said Indictment And that without the benefit of the testimony
