It is presumed the mere Production by the Defendt: of the
Letters Portent and Acts of Parliament will not be sufficient even to
claim the supposed benefit to arise from them unless he can show by
parole Testimony that the Exemption now claim'd has ever been allowed
for there does not appear in such Charter any saving Clause as in those of
the City of London Vizt.. "Notwithstanding any Ronuser or Abuser"
and it has been held even in that case evidence of the exercise of the
Right claim'd must be produced tho' perhaps at a distinct periodat
to entile the Parties to the benefit of such Charters
