To the Right Honble. The Lord Mayor &
Court of Aldermen of the City
of London.

My Lord Gentlemen,

We, the Grand Jury for the City of
London, humbly present this Memo-
rial, with great Concern, convinced
of the increasing Propharation of
the Sabbath, by great Number of
Shops being open in various Parts
of the City, also Number of loaded
Waggons, Carts, & Stage. Coaches, pro-
ceeding on their usual Business as
on other Days in the Week, to the
Promotion of Vice & Immorality, &
-consequently tending to the Increase
& Multiplying the melancholy Bu-
siness on which they have been just
engaged. They therefore hope that this
honourable Court will take the Same
into Consideration as their Wisdom Shall
think proper, & take the proper Steps to
Suppress to growing an Eeril.
