"the Circuits aforesd. after their said Direction and if any Person or Persons
"using any Barbery or Surgery at any Time hereafter offend in any of these Articles
"aforesaid Then for every Month the said Persons so offending shall lose forfeit &
"pay Five Pounds the one moiety thereof to the King and the other totheany Person
"that will or shall sue therefore by Action of Debt Bill Plaint or Information
"in any the King's Courts."

Power to make Bye Laws

By Letters Patent of King Chas. 1st. which are recited in an Act of the
18th. Geo. 2d. His said Majesty King Charles, as appears by such Recital
granted ratified and confirmed unto the Masters and Governors of the Mistery
and Commonalty aforesaid and their Successors amongst other Things all &
Singular "Customs Liberties Franchises Immunities Jurisdictions and
"Hereditaments whatsoever as well within the City of London the Libertys and
"Suburbs thereof as within the Liberties and Precincts therein after mentioned
"which the Men of the aforesd. Societies of Barbers and Surgeons or either of
"them then lawfully had held used and enjoyed by reason of any Letters
"Patent or by Colour of any lawful Prescription Use or Custom or by
"any other lawful means Right or Title theretofore had used or accustomed
"And did thereby give Power to the said Company and Corporation to make
"Bye Laws for the Good Order & Government of the sd. Society in Manner & under
"Such Restrictions as is therein mentioned "and such other Priviledges Power
& Authority as in the said Act of the 18th. Geo: 2d. is recited.

Patent of Chas. 1st.

By a Deed or Instrument dated the 6th. Day of April 1709 under
the Hand and Seal of the Right Honble Lord Cooper Lord High Chancellor
of Great Britain Sir John Holt< no role > Knt . Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Comn.
Pleas Reciting (amongst other Things) an Act of Parliament of the 19th.
Hen . 7th. whereby the Act and Ordinances of the Masters Wardens & Fellowships
of Crafts or Misteries & Rulers of Guilds & Fraternities are to be examined
& approved by the Chancellor and such other Persons as therein mentioned
And also reciting Part of the said Letters Patent of King Chas. 1st. in the
following Words"And whereas his late most Excellent Majesty
"King Chas. 1st. by his Letters Patent dated & made the 15th. day of August in the 5th. Year
