Name of Edwd Wheeler< no role > :}
For Felony & Forgery.

Patrick Burgess< no role > the Defendant Maketh Oath
and Saith that one Robert Burgess< no role > a Sailor is a
Material Witness for this Deponent in his Defence on
this Indictment And this Deponent further Saith
that he sent the day before yesterday one Thomas
Harris to the sign of the Star Public House in well
Street welclose Square where this Deponent was
informed the said Robert Burgess< no role > was to be found.
to get him to Attend and give Evidence on this Deponents
Tryal But the said Thomas Harris< no role > some time after
returned to this Deponent and informed him that he
was gone to Plymouth and would not return for some
little time And this Deponent further saith that
without the Testimony of the said Robert Burgess< no role > this
Deponent cannot safelyProceed onproceed in his
Defence to this Indictment this Sessions but doubts
Not he shall be able to produce such Evidence as the next Session

Sworn at Justice Hall in the
Old Bailey this 25th. day of Febry
