Who saith that as John Mason< no role >
now present, and this Examinant
were walking together on Sunday Evening the 24th. of October last about
8 oClock thro' Cliffords Inn
near Fleet Street
said Mason observed to
this Examinant, that as they were out of Place, they must keep
up an Appearance, otherwise they should not be able to get a
Place that observing a dark Stair Case, the said Mason went
up the Stairs, and got into the Window of the Chambers of the
said Luke Naylor< no role >
, and brought down to this Examinant (who
was then waiting in Cliffords Inn
) a Scarlet Coat a pair of white
conded Breeches, a Silk Waiscoat laced with silver, a pair of
white conded Breeches, a Tissue Waistcoat, a scarlet Waistcoat
and a Silk Waistcoat that on said Masons delivering them to this
Examinant he took them to a Room in the House of Mr. Morgan
at No. 3 in Essex Street
in the Strand
that said Mason and this
Examinant secreted all said Articles that Night in said Room where
they both lodged, under the Bedthat about 10 oClock the next day
he this Examinant pawned the said Tissue Waistcoat for four
Shillings with Mr. Brown Pawnbroker in the Strand
and [..] the
Scarlet Waistcoat and the Silk Waistcoat for ten Shillings and
Six pence with Mr. Purse Pawnbroker in the Strand

this 24th. day of Decemr. 1784}
