Deponents said Aunt he this Deponent conceives are material Witnesses
for this Deponent upon the said Trial; and many other Witnesses whom
this Deponent conceives to be materially necessary to be produced on
his behalf and who can speak to the Character Situation and
Circumstances of this Deponent in his past Life reside in different
parts of [..] Dorsetshire and Devonshire at a distance of one hundred
and fifty or One Hundred and Sixth Miles from LondonThat
this Deponent being so little known in London and his property
and Effects being all seized by his [..] decusors he was left
altogether without the means of sending down by express and therefore
if this Deponent is weged to Trial at the present Sessions he must
be absolutely deprived of the Evidence of the above Witnesses and
be in effect condemned unheardAnd this Deponent relying
on the Humanity and Mercy of this Honourable Court humbly hopes
the Court will not permit him to be dragged to Trial in the
Absence of his Relations Friends and Witnesses And Deponent
saith that by the Commencement of the next Sessions he shall be
fully prepared to enter into his defence and that the several
Witnesses abovementioned will then attend on his behalf his
Friends and Relations will be in London and this Deponent
will be then equally anxious to meet the Accusation made
against him as he now is to postpone his Trial
