for the sd. quarter of a year & that by another rate or assessmt. on the sevl.
Inhabitants of the sd. Parish made & assessed on the 26th. day of June last
for relief of the Poor of the sd. Parish from Ladyday to Midsummer
last the Petr. had been as an Inhabitant of the sd. Parish dated &
assessed to pay to the relief of the sd. Poor the sum of £13.6.8 for
the said lastmentd. Quarter of a Year And that the Petr.
conceiving himself aggrieved by the sd. rates or Assesmts. to the
same not being equal & equitable rates according to the sevl. rents & property
of the restrive Inhabitants of the sd. Parish in as much as the Pets. is
rated as an Occupier at & after the rate of £400 Pr. Annum & is infact
only an Occupier of one Messre or Tenemt. of the yearly value of £40 &
no more & therefore humbly prayed that the sd. rates or Assesmts. as far as
the same related to the Petr. might be quashed or set aside or that such
further or other relief might be granted to him as to the Court shod. seem
meet And Whereas the final hearing & Determination of the matter of the sd.
Appeal stands duly adjourned unto the present Session Now upon hearing of
what is alledged as well on behalf of the sd. John Eyles< no role > as on behalf of the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the sd. Parish of St. Bridget otherwise Brides
touching the Premes & upon full examination of the matter of the Petr. & appeal It doth appear
in evidence to this Court & is admitted by all the parties that his present Majesty by
virtue of his letters patent bearing date the 5th. day of March in the
first year of his reign give & thereby granted unto the said John
