The Examination of John Edwards< no role >
apprehended by Thomas Gates< no role > , City Marshal, and
brought before me James Townsend< no role > Esquire , one of
his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace for the said City Who
saith, that he was bound an Apprentice to his Father
John Edwards< no role > , a Cordwainer in Aldersgate Street ,
and served him seven YearsSays, that his time
expired about a Year ago, and then he worked with
Mr Thompson, Cordwainer in Saint John Street
afterwards withMr Russel, in Jewin Street , and
with his FatherSays, that before the Expiration
of his Apprenticeship , he was impressed, and [..]
discharged, having his Leg jammed between two
CasksSays, that he worked with his Father about
three Weeks ago, during which Period he has been
ill, and confined untill Monday lastSays, that he
had the Benefit of the Dispensary in Aldersgate
Street during his Illness, and that not receiving any
Advantage from the Medicines, he was, when
apprehended, going to another Apothecary in
Saffron Hill Says, that he lodged eleven months
at the White Horse Cloth Fair Says, that he was
a second time impressed, and taken on board the
Tender, but discharged on Account of his Leg about
three Months agoSays, that he don't chase to
tell whee his Father lives, and that he will not sign
his Name, nor make his Mark to this Information
