Williams for herself Saith That on Wednesday the Sixteenth of
October Instant she was taken into Custody in Holbourn
for being charged with taking in the Shop of the abovenamed
Mary Smithers< no role > some Silk Stockings This Deponent Saith
That She was Committed to Prison about nine o Clcok That night
and [..] Bill was found against her untill late last
Night [..] further Saith That Rebecca Jacobs< no role > of
Carter Street< no role > Houndsditch and Elizabeth Melan of
Peter Street Saffron Hill being very material Witnesses
in her Behalf and without whose Evidence she cannot
with safety Receive her Tryal She caused two Subpenas
to Testify to be sued out against the said Rebecca
Jacobs and Elizabeth Melan< no role > And this Deponent John
Smith Saith that he repaired to the dwelling House of
The said Rebecca Jacobs< no role > and Elizabeth Melan this Forenoon in Order to
Serve them with Subpenas for the purpose aforesaid
and was Informed at their respective places of Adobe that
they are out of Townandthis Deponent saith that he hope
and verily believes he shall be able to procure their Attendance
at the next Session
