Warner followed them and came up with them near The Bank Side when
the said James Bird< no role > called out to this Informant saying "Will Hobbs< no role >
" keep your Boat off don't come along-side if you do will fire into
" you, Will Hobbs go home I'll call on you in the Morning it's nothing
" in your way " To which this Informant replied, swore, and said to
the said James Bird< no role > " I'll follow you go where you will " upon which
he heard the said James Bird< no role > say a Damn you take that " & instantly
Pistol was fired at this Deponent and his Companions in this
Deponent's Boat That the said James Bird< no role > and the said Two other
Persons rowed away up the River and through Black Friars Bridge
and this Informant with the said William Wirner< no role > and Charles Moth< no role >
followed and again nearly approached the said Boat with the said James
Bird and his two Companions and also the said large Case in it near
the Old Barge house on the Surry Side of the River, that he saw the
said Boat go alongside or near the Fishmongers Barge and he this
Informant went on the other side the said Barge and called for
Help, that some persons immediately went from the said Barge into
a Boat and pursued the said James Bird< no role > and his Companions,
this Informant with the said William Warner< no role > and Charles Moth< no role >
and one Philip Martin< no role > who fined them from the said Barge
pursuing them likewise, that he this Informant very soon heard
two Pistols Fired and then discovered the aforesaid Chest which he had
before seen in the Boat with the said James Bird< no role > and his Companions)
floating in the Water, that he this Informant took hold of the said
Chest but the said Philip Martin< no role > & William Warner< no role > persuaded him to let
it go and to follow & take the People, that this Informant and his
