Anthony Parkin< no role > of the General Post Office
London Gentleman Solicitor in this Prosecution
maketh Oath and saith that Joseph Weston< no role > otherwise
called William Johnson< no role > was on the thirtieth Day of
April last committed to the Prison of Tothill Fields
Bridewell for the County of Middlesex for feloniously
Stealing and taking from and Oat of a Certain Bag
or Bags of Letters sent and Conveyed by the Post
on the Twenty ninth Day of January in the Year of
our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty one
several Letters And the Deponent further saith that
since the Committment of the said Joseph Weston< no role >
otherwise William Johnson< no role > he this Deponent hath
used due Diligence to be prepared to prosecute the
said Joseph Weston< no role > otherwise William Johnson< no role >
for the said Felony at this present Session of Goal
Delivery of Newgate for the said County of Middlesex
but by Reason of the Distance of Time since the
said Felony was committed and of the great Number
of Witnesses necessary to give Testimony on the Tryal
of the said Joseph Weston< no role > otherwise William Johnson< no role >
Many of which Witnesses reside in distant
Counties from the County of Middlesex he this
Deponent as Solicitor in this Prosecution cannot
be prepared to prosecute with Effect the said Joseph
Weston otherwise William Johnson< no role > at this present
Session And this Deponent further saith he will
use his utmost Endeavours to be prepared to carrry
on
