The Information of Edward Pyott Westlake
Servant to Chessrs. James Bennett< no role > & Company
of Fenchurch Street London Taken this 28th
Day of April 1782

Saith that having issued some Tea out of the Warehouse of
Messrs. Bennett & Company in Fenchurch Street aforesaid
on Friday night last the 19th Instant which upon Searching
the Warehouse was found in a small Bag concealed under Some Paper and
Exactly Corresponded in Quality and weight with what was
missed that Suspecting it had been Stolen and Concealed there
by Some of the Porters for the purpose of taking it away
Informant was therefore induced Early in the Morning of
Saturday before any of the Porter came into the Warehouse to
watch if they wod take it away that Soon after Informant
had Placed himself in an Hogshead where he had an
Opportunity of observing every thing that passed in the Warehouse
without being [..] Edward Burn< no role > in and instantly went
to the place where the Tea was concealed and took it and
Went up Stairs with it that Informant pursued him up
two pair of Stairs where he overtook him, who uponKing
Informants Calling to him and before he was charged with the theft
instantly threw it down, and Said that Informant had
not found it upon him, That the Tea Produced is identially
the Same that was concealed in the Warehouse and taken
by the Prisoner in manner aforesaid and this Informant
verily believes to be the property of [..] his said Master
