Who being on Oath severally say, and First the said
Sarah Collett< no role >
for herself saith, that between the hours
of nine and ten O'Clock last Night, she saw the Piece
of Bacon now produced lying in the Shop of her said
Husband
upon a Butter FirkinSays that a Person whom she believes to be the Prisoner
Joseph George< no role >
now under Examination came into the
Shop with his Back towards Informant, and said
he wanted a Piece of Bacon, and immediately she
saw the Person run out of the ShopSays, that
she missed the Piece of Bacon, and followed after
the same Man who turned the Corner out of Sight
Says, that she verily believes the Bacon now
produced is the same that was in the Shop and
was taken out as aforesaid.
And the said Stephen Joyce< no role >
for
himself saith, that he apprehended the Prisoner running
away, and the Bacon lay upon the Ground about
Fifty Yards from himthe Prisoner was the
Foremost of the CroudSays, that the Prisoner's
Hands appeared to be greasy when he was first
apprehended
