The Informations of Chapman George of BishopGate
Street London Thread maker and John Wraugh of the
Bull Inn Bishop Gate Street
aforesaid Book Keeper Taken
this 10th.. August 1781
First the Informant Champan George for himself saith that being in
BishopGate Street
near the Bull Inn about a Quarter part eight o Clock
on Wednesday Evening the first of August Instant he observed three
Persons together a Dentively watching the Norwick
Wasgon the loading
in the Street one of whom went up a Ladder fixed against the Wasgon and
took out of it the Box now produced which he gave to the Prisoner John
Phillips who immediately carried it away and put it on some Casks in
the Gate Way of the Bull Inn That Informant suspecting them to
be Thieves laid hold of the Prisoner as he returned out of the Gate Way whom
he delivered into the Castedy of a Porter in the Inn and than went in
pursuit of Thomas Hughes< no role >
the Person who took the Box out of the Wasgon
and who hath since entered into his Majesty< no role >
's Sen Service whom he also
apprehended
The Informant John Wrangle< no role >
saith that he is Bookkeeper
to the Norwick
Wasgon from the Bull Inn BishopGate Street
and
accountable for all Parcels left at his Warehouse there to go by the
said Wasgon and that the Box now Produced was brought to the Bull
Inn to go by the Norwick
Wasgon and was by him Booked and
ordered to be put into the Wasgon
for the above Purpose
