a Watchman of Bishopsgate Ward
without, Benjamin Watson< no role > a Watchman
belonging to the same Ward and Walter
Prosser Beadle< no role > of the Parish of Saint
Botolph without Bishop Gate London
Taken upon Oath before Brackley
Kennett Esquire Lord Mayor of the said
City this third day of August 1780

And first this Informant William Jack< no role > saith that about
Eight o'Clock on Tuesday the sixth of June last in the Evening
He Informant then attending as a hired Constable at New Gate
at which Time a large Mob was collected and Assembled before
the said Goal and were then and there feloniously and riotously
pulling down burning and destroying not only the said Goal
but also the Dwelling House and Furniture of Mr Richard
Alderman the Keeper of the said Goal he this Informant saw
the Prisoner Robert Bechinse< no role > (whose Person he well knew
having frequently before seen him) there in the Mob with a
Drawn Sword in his Hand brand is hing the same and that he
heard him huzza and cry out no Popery my Lads and believes
he say'd down with New Gate and appeared to his Informant
to be a very active Person in the Rist then and there committing
That Mr. Akermans House wes then on Fire and the Prisoners
had been Released by the Mob out of New Gate that he saw the
Prisoner threw a quantity of Feathers in they Face of another
