Mary the Widow of the deceased maketh Oath and
saith that the deceased had a dropsical Disorder also
was in an ill Habit of Body for a Month best past
and upward's that he was brought Home much
Crsivsed and informed Dept. that he believed his
Elbow was broke, On which he went to a Surgeon
who recommended him to go to St. Bartholomew's Hospitals
for alive that Deponent with Sharman attended
the deced to the Hospital where Mr. Jones the
attending Surgeon applied a Poultice to his
Arm and ordered him physick And Deponent
attended the deced there every Day to his Death
which happenedYeson Monday the Nineteenth
instant, Says that the deced never changed Barker
with abusing him,on laid his oldnor was the
deced apprehensive of his Death.

Adjorned to Monday the 26th. July 1779 to the Hour of Six
in the afternoon toattendedmake further Inquiry at the said Hospital, the Surgeon who had
the deced under his Care not appearing.

Valentine Jones< no role > of St. Bartholomew's Hospital
London Surgeon and Resident Surgeon there maketh
Oath and saith that on Tuesday the 13th day of July
instant the deced was brought to the sd. Hospital as or
doneIn Petienton an Accident having happened to
him; that on Examination it appeared to Dept. that
the deced's left Ann was much swelled, but Dept. did not
permise that anything close affected him: that on
the following dayhishe complained that his sd. Arm
was more painful than there night before that he
continued in the same state the next day being Wednesday
but the next day being Thursday the pain was lessened
and the sevelling considerably gone down that the next
day being Friday his Arm was better, but a bad Fever came
or and increased the next Satday being Saturday ; that his
Feaver continued the Sundayand Mfollowing and till
his death which happened on Monday the 19th. inst. between
10 & 11 in the Forenoon: says that when Dept. first asked
