being afterwards examined before Alderman Pugh was recommitted (Hora [..]
other reason than Acknowledging himself to be the Owner of the House)
but has Since been bailed before the Right Honourable the Evil of
Mansfield And this deponent Further saith that Francis Bull< no role > and
Samuel Meyers< no role > the Persons before mentioned to whom the said Box and
Goods were directed on Consigned are now as this deponent is Informed and
believes by Michael Lee< no role > who is Clerk to the said Messrs. Bull and Meyers
and verily believes in the Instant of Guernsey For which peace they sett out
of Town on the second or third day of this Instant February And that the
Reason John Hart< no role > who is the Person that Consigned the said Goods to the
said Messrs. Bull and Meyers is now Confined a Prisoner in his Majestys
Goal at Winchester : And this deponent Further Saith that the said Francis
Bull
< no role > Samuel Myers< no role > and John Hart< no role > are very materiall Witnesses For
this deponent on the Trial of this Indictment and without the benefit of
their Testimony this deponent cannot safely proceed to the Trial thereof
And this deponent Further Saith that he was in Great hopes that the said
Messrs. Bull and Keyers would have been in Town by this Time For
which Reason he Gave notice of Trial For Saturday the Twenty First Instant
but does not in the least doubt but they will Arrive and be in Town before
thereof Evening Sessions And that he shall be able then to have them
[..] in this Court as Witnesses For this deponent in the above matter
and will use his Utmost Endeavours For that purpose and Give Full
and sufficient Notice to the Prosecutor of the day and Time of his
Surrendering And this deponent Michael Lee< no role > upon his Oath saith
that having read the above Affidavitt of the said Abraham Barew< no role >
Saith that the Same is substantealy true And saith that From
Letters received from the said Messrs. Bull and Meyers to whom this
deponent is Clerk that From a variety of Business Attending
them and their Correspondents he is Informed by them and verily believes that they
will bein London aboutSix Weeks hence
