Henry Waterman< no role > of Half Moon Alley aforesaid
Victualler maketh Oath and saith that on Friday the
3d. day of Febry instant between the Hours of 10 & 11
in the Evening Dept. hearing a great Noise in the sd.
Alley he went to see what or [..] sioned it and saw the
deced much beat by several people and Dept. saw
him fall to the ground immediatly on which
Dept. to secure himself retired and went into his
House and shut the Door; says he could not distinguish
any particular person who struck the deced; that a
few Minutes afterwards the Croud dispersed and the
deced was brought in to Depts. House his Mouth being
very bloody & he complained that he had burn very
much hurt, and said Oh, they have killed me;
that a Coach was soon afterwards sent in which as
Dept. believes the deced was conveyed to St. Bartholomew's
Hospital where he diedYesterdaylast Thursday as Dept. believes
Says he saw the deced sevl. times whilst he was in the
sd Hospital

William Osbaldiston< no role > Pupil to Mr. Percival Pot< no role >
one of the Surgeons belonging to St. Bartholomew
hospital maketh Oath and saith that on Friday the
3d. day of Febry inst. [..] abt. the Hour of eleven in
the Evening the deced was brought to the sd. Hospital
on account of having received a Blow upon his
Upper Lip. says he instantly dressed it and searched
other parts of the Head of the deced. but Dept. could not
find any other Hurt in his Head, that he complained
of his left Shoulder which Dept. examined and
found there a large bruise which Dept. imagines
might be given by a Stick: says there did not appear
to Dept. any Sympton ofDa [..] Danger till last Tuesday
when he complained of [..] a Violent pain in his Side
and Bowels but nothing ontowardingly appeared, and
the deced died last Thursday Says he was present when
Mr. Thomas Pemberton< no role > a Surgeon oped the Body of the dead
when the Bowels appeared to be sound and every thing in
a naturaldeathstate, and Dept. verily believes that the Blow
the deced appeared to have received could not be the
Occasion of the death of the deced [..] he having had no
Fever whilst he was in the sd. Hospital.
