George Lane< no role > of the Mage in the Parish of Saint
Olave Southwark Drayman and Elizabeth< no role > Wife of
the said Samuel Roberts< no role > severally Make Oath & Say
and first the said George for himself Saith That John
Baines< no role > Felmonger lodged lately at this Deponents
House No. 3 in the Maze aforesaid and which John
Baines went from his said Lodgings about the Middle
of last Week and said he was going into Shropshire
to see his Friends and that some of them lived at
Shewsbury And that he should return to Town in about
a Fortnight And believes the said John is gone there
for that purpose And Saith he remember Inquiry
being made at this Deponents aforsaid House after the
said John by the said Roberts's Wife and another
Person but who he was this Deponent does not know
and Says the sd. Elizabeth and the other person were Informed and which he thinks was
onThursday last that the said John was gone as
aforsaid And the said Elizabeth for herself Saith
that she and one Rowland Ridgeley< no role > did make several
Inquirys at the other Deponents and elsewherefor upwards
of ten Days last after the said John to have him here
as a Witness for her said Husband at this Session and could
have so had him if she Could have met with him but
was not able And at length which was on Thursday
last reced Information at the other Deponent (And which
