Wood with which he went to the Bank and that either one or other or both
that is to say the said Thomas Wood< no role > and John Vestenburg< no role > directed him where
to present the Notes and to receive the money for them and said Wood say'd he
would wait for him in the Street says he accordingly went to the Bank and
received part of the said money but not finding the said Thomas Wood< no role > in the
Street he carried the said money to the said Thomas Wood< no role > 's Lodging at an
Inn in Bishopsgate Street and Laid it in his Room that he then returned to
the Bank and received the Remainder of the money for the said Bank Notes
says that on his return from the Bank the second time he met with the said
Thomas Wood< no role > in the street who conducted him to the same Tavern to which
he had carried the Bank Notes that he had received for the aforesaid Draft
says that when he delivered the said Money to the said Thomas Wood< no role > he
told this Informant that it was a forgery and that this Informant would
be liable to be hanged as well as them meaning the said John Vestenburg< no role >
and himself and that they would give this Informant four or five hundred
Pounds to go and sick his Fortune and that he must go abroad imediately
because he would be known says that he this Informant and the said Thomas
Wood and the said John Vestenburg< no role > dined together that very day at the Quceors
Arons in Saint Pauls Church yard when the aforesaid confirmed what the said
Thomas Wood< no role > had say'd as to it's being a forgery and he also agreed to give
this Informant the four or five hundred Pounds as abovementioned that they
both to wit the said Thomas Wood< no role > and John Vestenburg< no role > insisted upon this
Informants leaving England directly as he would be known says that he
several times saw the said Thomas Wood< no role > and the said John Vestenburg< no role >
afterwards when they continued to insist upon this Informant's leaving
England directly because he would be known and they told him they were
both prepared to go off in Case this Informant had been stop't at the Bank
and that the said Thomas Wood< no role > shewed him in a Box some Livery Cloaths
that he intended to have put on for that purpose says he left Mr. Shields
without giving him more than two or three days Notice and went abroad
imediately says that the day before he went away the said Thomas Wood< no role > and
the said John Vestenburg< no role > took their leaves of him says the said Thomas
Wood and the said John Vestenburg< no role > gave him that day about One hundred
and Thirty Pounds and that both the said John Ventenburg< no role > and Thomas
Wood assured this Informant they would make it up Five Hundred Pounds
to this Informant according to their promise says that apart of the said
One Hundred and thirty Pounds was paid to him by the said John
Vestenburg him a Bell of Exchange for Fifty Pounds drawn by Peter and
Richard Mintman< no role > upon Messr. Mintman and Sons of Amsderdam payath
at three days sight to the order of John Vestenburg< no role > and now produced to this
