MIDDLESEX COMMITMENTS.

44 Joseph Harris< no role > , otherwise Samuel Noah< no role > , from Clerkenwell-bridewell
committed by G.Mercer, Esq ; on oath of Charles Stewart< no role > , on suspicion
of knowingly and designedly obtainling by false precence, a large quan-
tity of Birmingham hard-ware goods his property, value 291. with intent
to cheat and defraud him thereof. Dated Feb. 4, 1772.

Detained on oath of Zachariah Bird< no role > , on suspicion of knowingly and de-
signedly obtaining from him by false pretence a large quantity of Bir-
mingham hardware goods value 351. his property, with intent to cheat
and defraud him thereof. Dated Feb. 4, 1772.

Detained by the name of Samuel Noah< no role > , on oath of Zachariah Bird< no role > and
another, for feloniously making and forging and acceptance upon a certain
bill of exchange for 351. to the said Zachariah, in the name of Joseph
Harris
< no role > , and uttering the same as a true acceptance of the said Joseph Har-
ris, with intent to defraud the said Zachariah. Dated Feb. 6, 1772.

Detainde (by the same name) on oath of Charles Steward< no role > and another, for
feloniously making and forging an acceptance upon a certain bill of ex-
change, for payment of 291. to the said Charles Steward< no role > , in the name
of Joseph Harris< no role > , and uttering the same as a true acceptance of the said
Joseph Harris< no role > , with intent to defraud the said Charles Steward< no role > . Dated
Feb. 6, 1772.

Detained (by the same name) by J. Barnfather, Esq ; on oath of
Charles Howard< no role > , and Zachariah Bird< no role > , for wilfully and maliciously con-
spiring, confederating, and agreeing with Samuel Harris< no role > , and Joseph
Harris, in knowingly, designedly, and unlawfully obtaining by false pre-
tences, a large quantity of hardware, goods of the Wolverhampton ma-
nufacture value 291. with intent to cheat and defraud him thereof.
Dated Feb. 8, 1772.

Detained (by same name) on oath of Zachariah Bird< no role > , and Charles Steward< no role > ,
with wilfully and maliciously conspiring, combining, confederating, and
agreeing with Samuel Harris< no role > and Joseph Harries< no role > , in knowingly, de-
signedly, and unlawfully obtaining by false pretences, a large quantity
of hardware goods of the Birmingham manufactory, value 351. the
property of the said Zachariah, with intent to cheat and defraud him
thereof. Dated Feb. 8, 1772.

45 Thomas Stopps< no role > , from Clerkenwell-bridewell , committed by J. Cox, Esq;
on oath of George Clark< no role > , on suspicion of stealing in the county of
Essex , a pair of ruffles, two pieces of black lace, and a large quantity
of other goods. Dated Jan. 10, 1772.

Detained on oath of George Clarke< no role > and others, for stealing in the county
of Essex , twenty-three yards, of black thread lace, sixteen yards of white
thread lace , thirty-two yards of black silk lace, a pair of laced ruffles
and other haberdashery goods value 1501. the property of the said
George. Dated Jan. 16, 1772.

Esq; on oath of William Wright< no role > , for stealing a gold laced hat, the
property of our Lord the King. Dated Jan. 20, 1772.
