Twenty ninth day of May last he became bound
by recognizance before Sir Robert Ladbroke< no role >
Knight
in the sum of Twenty pounds to appear at the then
next Session of the peace to be hold on for the City of
London
in July then next and new last past
to prosecute James Harris< no role >
for shealing a herein
Handkerchief value six pence this Deponents
property And this Deponent upon his Oath further
Saith that he not having ever been concerned in
a prosecution of any find of that sort and ignorantly
imagining that notice would be sent to him to
information when to attend to prosecute the said
James Harris< no role >
he this Deponent ommitted to attend
at the said July Session to prosecution the said James
Harris on which account this Deponent hath
been informed and believes that the said
James Harris< no role >
was discharged for want of
prosecution And this Deponent upon his Oath
further saith that he did not designed by or with
any View to have the prisoner escape Justice
omit to prosecute the said James Harris< no role >
nor did
he know he was under a recognizance or even what
a recognizance meant untill he received a Letter
from the Deputy Clerk of the peace and and explanation
since from the same Gentleman
and this Deponent
further saith that his always intended to appear
and prosecute the said James Harris< no role >
and should
have so done had he known how or where
Sworn at Justice is Hall in the
Old Bailey
