Rebeccah Denton< no role > Sister to the Deced Samuel Denton< no role > Maketh Oath Saith that on
Monday the 30th: of April 1750. She went to see her Brother & found him in a very
bad Condition [..] in Bed, And heard him say thathishe [..] thought something was
broke within him; says upon that she Asked him of his Master had
Missused him, to which he replyed that on the Friday was sunnight
before his Master had beat him very much and had Rich'd him
And so again out the Saturday & that he beleived that his Master had
broke something within him, This Deponent further saith that there
was then present & in the same Room the Apothecary One Mr Ewin
And after her Brother was Dead they would not let her see him
tho' she desired it, But was told it would frighton her to him

Richard Ewin< no role > Apothecary Says that on the 23d: of April he was sent for
to the Deced Samuel Denton< no role > and heard him Complain of his Bowells
upon which this Deponent prescrib'd for him but could not got any thing
through him, tho' cryed both with Medicines and a Clister But never
heard him say how his Bowells came to be so sow Nor ever head him
declare that any Person had beat him

Wm: Hunter< no role > of Covent Garden Surgeon Says that he has had the
Inspection of the Body of the Deced Samuel Denton< no role > Since it two taken out
of the Ground, But could not find any Extreme Marks of Violence
And as for Opening the Body it was so very bad that he could not pretend
to do any such thing, it being so very much Putrified
