Frankland in ye County of Oxford & to cause ye sd. William Frankland< no role > to be detained in ye. sd. Goal of Newgate for ye same
And yt. for these purposes he ye said Edward Bygrave< no role > should personate one John Spusce of ye Parish of Aynoe on the Hill
in ye County of Northampton Salesman And ye Sd. Elizab Nicholls< no role > & Edward Bygrave< no role > to compleat & perfect their sd.
wicked Combinations Intentions and Conspiracy ye sd. 9th. day of November in ye year afd at Kensington afd in ye sd. County
of Middx did go before One William Morrice< no role > Esqr the One of ye sd. Justices of ye sd. Lord ye King assigned to keep the Peace
of the said Lord the King in ye sd. County of Middx & Also to hear and determine divers felonies Trespasses and other
Misdemeanurs committed in ye County last afd And ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then and there in ye presence and with
the Knowledge and privity of ye sd. Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. and in pursuance of ye sd. Combination & Conspiracy (ye sd. Edward
Bygrave then & there personating ye sd. John Spurce< no role > ) before ye sd. William Morrice< no role > ) ye sd. William Morrice< no role > then & long before
being One of ye Justices of ye sd. Lord ye King assigned to keep the Peace of ye sd Lord ye King in ye County of Middx And Also
to hear & determine divers Felonies Trespasses & other Misdemeanours committed in ye sd. County of Middx and
having Sufficient Authority to administer an Oath to ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > in that behalf) did then in the sd. Parish
of Kensington voluntarily falsely and Maliciously upon his Corporal Oath depose Swear and in Writing affirm
that a person. then in Custody in his Majesty's Goal of Newgate in ye County of Middx who went by ye name of William
Franklyn & by ye Nick Name of Rusty Dick (meaning ye sd. William Frankland< no role > who was then in Custody in ye sd.
Goal) did on or about ye 20th. day of October which was in ye year of Our Lord 1736 attack him (meaning him
ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > who then personated ye. sd. John Spurce< no role > ) on ye Highway aske (meaning himself ye sd. Edward
Bygrave then personating ye sd. John Spurce< no role > .) was travelling between Islip & Weatley in Oxfordshire that he
(meaning ye sd. William Frankland< no role > ) robbed him. (meaning himself ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then personating
ye. sd. John Spurce< no role > ) and forcibly took from him (meaning himself ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then Porsonating
ye sd. John Spurce< no role > ) One Guinea 15s. in Silver a Silver Watch & Hatt & yt. ye sd. Robbery was committed in ye
day time between ye hours of 4 & 5 o'Clock in ye Afternoon on or about [..] ye sd. 20th Octob. in ye Year 1736 And yt.
he (meaning himself ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then personating ye sd. Johh Spurce) was very positive yt. ye Person who
robbed him (meaning himself ye sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then personating the sd. John Spurcds afd) was ye sd. William
Franklyn abovenamed (meaning thereby ye sd. William Frankland< no role > ) as by ye sd. Examination may more at large
appear Whereas in truth & in fact ye sd. William Frankland< no role > or ye sd. William Franklyn< no role > who is mentioned to have
been called by the Nick Name of Rusty Dick< no role > did not at any time attack robb or forcibly take away from any
Person whatsoever on the Highway in ye sd. County of Oxford any Money or Goods whatsover which sd. Combinacon
and Conspiracy of ye sd. Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. & Edward Bygrave< no role > were to the great peril of ye life & Destrucon
of ye sd. William Frankland< no role > . To ye manifest Perversion of ye Laws of this Kingdom To ye Evil Example
of All Others in the like Case offending and agt. ye Peace of ye said Lord ye King his Crown & Dignity Etc
Whereupon ye Sheriff of ye sd. County of Middx was commanded yt. he should not omitt by reason of any
Liberty in his Bailiwick but that he should cause ye sd. Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. & Edward Bygrave< no role > to come
to answer ye Premes And afterward to witt at ye Same Session of Oyer & Terminer holden at Hicks
Hall afd. in & for ye sd. County of Middx on ye sd. Monday ye 11th. day of January in ye sd. 15th. Year of ye Reign
of Our sd. now Lord the King before the Justices of Our sd. Lord the King abovenamed and others their
